Vettel plays an important role for Schumacher: "Many things I can learn from him"

When Sebastian Vettel entered Formula 1, he regularly sought contact with Michael Schumacher. The seven-times world champion provided him with a lot of advice. Now, so many years later, Vettel fulfills that very role for Schumacher's son Mick.

Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel can often be seen together in the paddock. After a session they greet each other, in the car, they sometimes wave to each other, and also next to the track the two Germans are in contact. Vettel tries to help the son of his idol in Formula 1 and Mick is very happy with that.

''He has already given me a lot of advice, but a lot of that I keep to myself. After all, it's just a competition after all. I have a lot of respect for him. I think we can call our relationship a friendship, which is great for me of course. He has so much experience and there are so many things I can learn from him," he tells Motorsport.com.

"The biggest advice he has given me is to never forget why I am here. That's because we love the sport. As soon as you lose that feeling, you are in the wrong place here. So I enjoy life because I'm doing the greatest thing in the world. It's great that I have someone like him there to give me some advice every now and then,'' Schumacher concludes.
