The Formula 1 season continues after an off weekend with the drivers and teams preparing for the street circuit in Monaco in the coming days. The race promises to be exciting again, according to George Russell.

The Englishman said in a preview on the official website of Williams that he is looking forward to the race. "It was a shame to miss the race last year due to the reshuffled calendar as it’s one of the most exhilarating and thrilling laps of the season. It will be great to be back, and I can’t wait to get on track and have the overall Monaco experience."

Williams have not been particularly successful so far this season with both Russell and Nicholas Latifi failing to score any points for the team. Nevertheless, Russell is confident about the race. "It’s also going to be a huge weekend for the team as we mark our 750th race, which is an incredible achievement and something I’m proud to be part of."

Russell possible successor Bottas

Various media outlets are regularly linking George Russell's name with Mercedes, with the German team seeming to view Russell as the ideal successor for the disappointing Valtteri Bottas. For now, however, it remains a rumour.
