Fierce battle between Verstappen and Hamilton: Both make best start of season ever
Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing have had their strongest start to the season ever. But Lewis Hamilton also starts the 2021 Formula 1 season with more points than ever before. Who of the two makes the best impression?
Fierce battle between Verstappen and Hamilton
It's the battle we didn't quite see coming: Max Verstappen vs. Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull Racing, along with Honda, have made a big step since 2020, closing much of the gap to Mercedes. Mercedes did win three of the four races since the start of 2021, but Red Bull is right on their heels.
For Max Verstappen, it's new to have such a strong start to the season where he can actually compete for the championship. After the first four races the Dutchman has scored eighty points.
A strong start of the season is nothing new for Lewis Hamilton, but he too is making his strongest start of the season ever. Hamilton has 94 points after the first four races of 2021.
Who impresses more: Verstappen or Hamilton?
Which of the two makes more of an impression is largely a matter of taste, as the rivals are certainly well matched. For Verstappen it was just a matter of time, as until recently Red Bull's material was inferior to Mercedes'. However, it is also remarkable that Hamilton is able to get even more out of himself after an already impressive and long career. He has often said he enjoys the fierce battle with Verstappen, which perhaps brings out the best in Hamilton.
