Helmut Marko has given more details on how Red Bull Racing plan to structure the remainder of the season in terms of continued development at the Milton Keynes factory. The 78-year-old advises the Austrian team that the RB16B will be improved and the next evaluation will take place during the summer break.

"We've decided that we're going to keep developing fully until the summer break, both with the current car and the one for 2022. Then we will see what the world championship looks like," said Marko, who will only start making decisions after that. The chief still believes he has 'a real chance' of winning the title, as the gap in the World Championship is 'not frightening'.

Marko not giving up

The difference between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen after four Grands Prix is fourteen points in the World Drivers' Championship. "We have to find a balance then (after the summer break, ed.) to keep doing both things as well as possible. But we're not going to win the world championship by saying we're going to focus on 2022," he explained more to ORF and Sky.

Yet Marko also gives credit to Lewis Hamilton who, with Mercedes, is proving to be hugely strong again in 2021 after all. "With such superiority and such a top driver, you can't fight it," he praises the successful combination. Nevertheless, Marko remains combative. Giving up is not in the Graz-based Austrian's vocabulary.
