Lately, more and more attention is being paid to people's behaviour on social media. This weekend George Russell will also participate in the Social Media Blackout. Max Verstappen is not so worried about it all and especially does not read it.

The rise of social media has had many positive effects on the world because it's easier for people to get in touch with each other. From behind a screen, however, it is sometimes too easy for people to express themselves negatively about other people. Especially famous people, including athletes, have to deal with this negative attention.

Verstappen not bothered by negative reactions

Whereas Russell has let it be known that he won't be doing anything on Social Media this weekend, Verstappen isn't too worried about it. ''If someone wants to say something negative to me on social media, that's their problem. I hope they have a nice day because of it. During race weekends I'm only focused on one thing: getting the best result out of it. When I get home I focus on other things. It doesn't make me sleep less. On Twitter, for example, I do not look at all those comments," said Verstappen according to De Telegraaf.

The Dutchman sometimes comes across something but doesn't pay that much attention to it. ''I don't follow much of the racing on social media, so I don't see that much. The other day I saw a picture of me and Lewis together in Formula 1. That way they want to make it more exciting. It's only logical that they do that,'' says Verstappen.
