Red Bull on the hunt for new talent: 'Most interesting engine project'

Red Bull Racing have made a major acquisition with Ben Hodgkinson for their new engine project in Milton Keynes. It's unlikely to be the last name to be added to Christian Horner's team.

From 2022 Red Bull will have to make the engines themselves with all the data they get from Honda and also support from some engineers. Red Bull are not taking any half measures though, and are in the process of building a complete engine department in Milton Keynes, where the best engineers can work on the current engine, as well as the new engine for 2025.

''This is tremendous exciting for us. We've created a beautiful campus here and the aim now is to bring the engine department to Milton Keynes as well. That will be a brand new building and we hope to equip that with the greatest talents in engineering to focus on the 2025 rules,'' Horner told Sky Sports.

Talents of Red Bull

Whereas Mercedes and Renault have two separate factories for the car's chassis and engine, Red Bull Racing, like Ferrari, will keep everything on one site. ''This gives us a great opportunity to really integrate the engine within the chassis. Indeed, along with Ferrari, we will be the only team to have this together in one location.''

In addition to Hodgkinson's arrival, Red Bull is looking for more people to supply the brand new factory with brains soon. ''That way we can keep jobs from people within Honda, but we're also busy recruiting the biggest talents. This is perhaps the most interesting engineering project in years in the engine field,'' concludes the Red Bull team boss.
