It has been rumoured for years but finally an F1 race in Miami has been confirmed for 2022. The race is set with the Hard Rock Stadium at the heart of it and the president of the stadium is looking forward to bringing a global event to the iconic venue.

The Miami Grand Prix will take place for the first time in 2022 with drivers set to race around the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins. It means it could be a second race in the USA with the US Grand Prix scheduled to take place at the Circuit of the Americas.

Tom Garfinkel vice-president and CEO of the Hard Rock Stadium, is looking forward to bringing another global event to the stadium and he described F1 as "big as it gets".

“The Hard Rock Stadium entertainment campus in Miami Gardens exists to host the biggest global events to benefit the entire greater Miami region and Formula 1 racing is as big as it gets," Garfinkel said on the F1 website.

"We have worked with specialist designers to create a racetrack that we, Formula 1 and the FIA believe will provide great racing and we hope to create best-in-class unique fan experiences that are reflective of the diverse and dynamic nature of Miami.

“I want to thank Formula 1 and the Miami Gardens and Miami Dade County elected officials for working to bring this hugely impactful event here for years to come.”
