It is still uncertain whether the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort can go ahead. This will depend on the situation with the coronavirus because the organization doesn't want the race to go on without an audience. However, there is a time limit on when the organization has to know if the event will go ahead or not.

Eight weeks notice of decision on Dutch GP

The race at Zandvoort is scheduled for September 5, but a lot of work needs to be done before then. Grandstands have to be built and facilities around the track have to be set up.

"We just need that construction time," said Circuit Zandvoort director Robert van Overdijk at BNR.

"From then on it also starts to be tight in terms of time. So count back for when we'd like to know whether or not it's possible."

For the time being, cancelling or postponing is not an option according to Van Overdijk. "The government says that everyone could be vaccinated before July 1st. Which measures are still valid, will be decided by the government. If it turns out that it can't be done, in any way whatsoever, then we said that we simply need help," said Van Overdijk.
