The second practice session of the 2021 season opener is already upon us. At the Bahrain International Circuit, the teams will soon have another opportunity to prepare themselves for qualifying and the Grand Prix on Sunday. Follow all the action here in our liveblog!

While the winter tests and first free practice have already given us a glimpse of the balance of power between the teams on the grid this year, the second session is set to reveal even more. Who will be strong enough to fight for the title this year, and who will be left in the dust?

Unstable Mercedes, fast Red Bull?

The Sakhir practice sessions will also let us know if teams have made improvements since the pre-season testing two weeks ago. At the same circuit, Mercedes appeared to be struggling with balance, and Red Bull seemed prepared for a strong start to 2021.

And during this second session, we'll get a glimpse of the battle behind Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Last season, McLaren finished third in the Constructors' Championship. But that result wasn't clear cut. Alpine, Aston Martin and Ferrari will all be battling McLaren for that position.

Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda also had a strong pre-season in the AlphaTauri, promising to make the 'best of the rest' battle exciting again.
