Last season was full of highs and lows, but one moment will be remembered by all: Romain Grosjean's crash, from which he was extremely lucky to escape alive. A new 3D animation now gives an insight into how the Halo prevented the driver from being decapitated.

Grosjean did not have the best end of his Formula 1 career. He crashed into the crash barrier at full speed in his last race, causing his car to break and partially get pulverized. The driver was lucky to get out of the wreckage alive, and it was all thanks to the Halo in his car.

A new 3D animation from a documentary Retour de Flammes by Canal+ was made bij crashalong.com and how the crash went and how the Halo made sure Grosjean still has his head today.

Good luck in Grosjean's crash

Grosjean's crash that occurred after a collision with Daniil Kvyat didn't end the way it did just because of the Halo. Had the driver come to a stop a little sooner, he would have been trapped in the Haas car, but the Swiss-French driver was able to climb out of his car and jump over the crash barrier before the flames reached him. He was not completely uninjured though, sustaining several burns from the incidence that ended his Formula 1 career earlier than expected.
