Gasly: 'AlphaTauri has improved a lot this year'.

During the winter test in Bahrain the AlphaTauri made a good impression. The car for the upcoming Formula 1 season covered a considerable distance and did so in a very good time. Pierre Gasly is impressed with the improvements of the team.

He told that to Motorsport.com. According to Gasly the team from Faenza has improved a lot compared to last year. During the three-day test, the rental's full programme was completed, so the drivers know what they can expect.

"We got a good idea of the car we have for this year, where we need to improve and where our strengths lie. So that's very positive. Of course there are always things that need to be improved, but to be honest we are in a much better position after three test days than we were a year ago after the same amount of days in Barcelona. I'm very happy about that."

Gasly not the only positive about AlphaTauri

Gasly is not alone in his positive feedback about the 2021 car. Fellow driver Yuki Tsunoda is also very positive. He has driven AlphaTauri cars before and, like Gasly, feels a big improvement.

"There is definitely a good step forward compared to last year. We can see that in the data. I've driven the AT01 and the STR14 before and I can also feel that there is a good step, especially when it comes to top speed. I can't tell you how big the step is, but it's definitely a good step."

Gasly and Tsunoda are optimistic for the upcoming season, which kicks off on March 28. Although developments for the stable's 2021 car have been halted, there are high hopes for the races. The package is good and the main focus is now on the drivers, including the drivers themselves.
