Ferrari experienced a low point in 2020 with a sixth-place among the constructors and hope to put this bad season behind them quickly in 2021. Mattia Binotto is very confident, but is that justified after the winter test?

Are Ferrari climbing out of the valley?

After a dramatic 2020 Ferrari hopes to get things back on track in 2021. With a new engine, changes to the car and a new line-up the team should be on the up again. The winter test was not admirable and it remains to be seen whether Ferrari can rise above the average this year.

"It is very difficult when you don't perform as expected. It's also difficult because the ambition for Scuderia Ferrari is always the best, the maximum. I have to say that the atmosphere last year was difficult, but we remained a unit while with the poor performance it was easy to end up in a different situation. However, the team remains united, continues to work hard and improve," Binotto said according to Motorsport.com.

Better atmosphere at Ferrari

Ferrari has also made some internal changes towards the new season. The four-times world champion, Sebastian Vettel, was sidelined and replaced by Carlos Sainz. The management was also changed, not for the first time. All of this has had a positive effect, according to Binotto.

''We are now facing the start of a new season with different cars. You get new hope from that, so it is normal that the atmosphere is a lot better. The whole atmosphere is good now, also because Carlos and Charles fit well within the team and get along well both on and off the track'', the Ferrari team boss concludes.
