It's already a hot topic in the world at the moment, but also within Formula 1 there is the question of whether or not to vaccinate. In Bahrain, teams have the option to be vaccinated upon arrival in the country.

Vaccinate everyone

Bahrain would be willing to vaccinate all Formula 1 personnel upon arrival in the country, but Liberty Media has already indicated that they do not wish to make use of this option. According to them, Formula 1 and the teams have to 'wait their turn' and there are plenty of other people who have been waiting in line longer or need it more.

Mercedes and Ferrari

On Wednesday morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Mercedes and Ferrari would like to take up the offer after all. "This means that, strictly on a voluntary basis, the staff of the Ferrari team already in Bahrain for the pre-season test will have the time to receive the double dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Mercedes has given its staff the same opportunity", reads the Italian newspaper.

Personal choice at Red Bull

Also at Red Bull Racing, the team of Max Verstappen, they would not prohibit the vaccination in Bahrain. Erik van Haren of Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf says on Twitter that the team's choice depends on 'the personal choice of the individuals in the team'. This would mean that also Verstappen is free to get vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Bahrain.
