For the first time in Formula 1 history, Aston Martin and Mercedes will share the honour of providing the Safety Car and the Medical Car for F1. The colour schemes of both cars are unique.

The Mercedes drivers at the front of the Formula 1 field are a familiar sight by now, but the Silver Arrows have actually been the frontrunners in F1 for some time now. The German brand is the supplier of the Safety Car, but will share that honour from 2021 onwards. The FIA and Aston Martin have now revealed what these cars will look like.

Aston Martin as Safety Car

Besides returning as a team to Formula 1, Aston Martin has also made the Aston Martin Vantage DBX available as a Safety Car and Medical Car. This car will share the honour with Mercedes. The colours in the front of the field will change in any case. Bernd Mayländer will drive the Safety Car and Alan van der Merwe will drive the Medical Car.

Where the familiar image in recent years was silver, Aston Martin will drive with the same green colour as the Formula 1 team, and the Mercedes editions will come out in the red colour. A unique new colour scheme, although we hope we don't see the Medical Car in action too often.
