Mick Schumacher is unlikely to have an easy debut season with ailing Haas. The team will make few, if any, updates during the season, which of course does not bode well.

Working hard

Despite the fact that there is probably little honour to be gained for Schumacher with the Haas in 2021, he intends to pull out all the stops to make the most of it. "I intend to take every opportunity to get to the front, score points and basically be open to any situation," the young Schumacher told Motorsport-Total.com.

Above all, Schumacher wants to improve as much as possible as a driver in the coming season. "That's really what I want to do. And I'm going to work my ass off to do that, if I may say so. I'm going to give everything I've got."

Ferrari Driver Academy

As well as being a driver for Haas, Schumacher is still part of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA), which will support him in his debut season. "I'm still an FDA driver, so it's great to have that backing and help in the background to support me in my first Formula One season."

Tough training schedule

Ahead of the test and first Grand Prix in Bahrain, Schumacher is focusing fully on a gruelling training schedule. Six days a week the young German is in the gym. "Half an hour of neck training as a cool-down. Cycling beforehand, and then straight to the gym, where you train different muscle groups. Of course, it varies from day to day," he reveals.
