Mick Schumacher had to travel to Britain recently in preparation for the upcoming season. This was to fit his seat, but it took more time than is normally the case due to the coronavirus measures that required the German to spend a week in quarantine.

One week in quarantine

Anyone travelling to England from Switzerland - where Schumacher also lives - has to go into compulsory isolation by order of the British government and pass two COVID-19 tests. Needless to say, the young driver has a busy schedule and this had to be rearranged to meet the requirements.

The new Haas driver told Motorsport.com: "Obviously, it hasn't been easy as travelling to England has been very restricted. We had a plan, and then the rules changed, and I had to self quarantine."

"So I had to find a spot where I could give up 10 days basically to give myself the room to go to the team for one and a half days, which is really not a lot for seven days of quarantining. So I arrived in England in one spot and just basically stayed there for the amount of time that was given to me. And, after my results came all negative back to me after the days we were assigned to, I was able to go to the team."

Everything fits...

By now everything has worked out, but even so Schumacher expects there may be some adjustments to be made. "A seat is always very special, but it can feel very good when you're stationary and the moment you drive, it feels crap. So it's something we'll just have to figure out on track."

Haas captured the day Schumacher came by for his seat on video, which you can watch below.
