Red Bull has found a place for Jack Doohan in Formula 3. The son of the five-time 500cc world champion (currently MotoGP) has been given a second chance with Trident after his debut did not go as well as hoped.

Doohan turned eighteen in January and has a whole career ahead of him, but he will need to improve quickly if he is to make the next step. The son of the legendary motorcyclist is no longer part of the official Red Bull Junior Team after his lacklustre debut in F3. He scored zero points and finished 26th in the standings.

Red Bull fills Formula 3

Doohan is still backed by Red Bull, and is getting that support again in Formula 3. There Doohan now hopes to make the step up to the top with Trident. He will be joined by David Schumacher (son of Ralf) and Clement Novalak. Last season, Trident did very well in the championship.

The Formula 3 grid is already filling up nicely. Red Bull has three trainee drivers in the championship, Ayumi Iwasa, Jak Crawford and Johnny Edgar, in addition to Doohan and Dennis Hauger who are supported by Red Bull. Another notable name is that of Arthur Leclerc, who like his brother, will drive for Prema Racing.
