Lando Norris will be driving his third season in Formula 1 in 2021 . The young Brit saw big improvements in 2020 but knows that he is still has a lot to learn. He knows what he can work on and that motivates him to become even better.

Harmony between Norris and engineers

“I've been here at McLaren for a few days and we've already looked back a lot to things from last year to get us ready for this year,” Norris said in a press briefing from McLaren, including GPBlog . The 21-year-old admitted that halfway through last season he had some difficulty finding the right set-up for the car, which did not help his confidence either.

"Towards the end of the season, we reverted some of the adjustments back to how I wanted it, which allowed me to perform better," Norris continued.

He knows that it is now mainly about improving small things. "I think all in all I have a lot more self-confidence, I know better what I want from the car and from the engineers, so we can work just a little more in harmony."

Norris reflected on his second year in Formula 1 and was very satisfied with his performance last season. “Of course there are things I need to improve, but as a whole the season was stronger than the first year. I am satisfied, but I know I have to work on things and that is going to motivate me. Working with Daniel Ricciardo will also help me become a better driver. ”

No more racing against Albon

Unlike Norris, we will no longer see Alexander Albon on the Formula 1 grid in 2021, something that makes Norris disappointed. "It is difficult. I am good friends with Alex. I feel sorry for him because I know he's a really good driver. But it is harsh. And this shows how hard Formula 1 is."

Still, Norris knows that Albon won't give up just like that. “I like Alex very much and I respect him. It is a shame that he has lost his seat, but I am sure he will fight back and try to get back to Formula 1 in the future. "
