A record that nobody really wants to have in their hands: the most victories without a world title. Both Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas have a chance to take over the record from Sir Stirling Moss in 2021.

The best driver without a title

Moss was active as a Formula 1 driver between 1951 to 1961. He managed to win almost everything there was to win. The only thing he failed to achieve was that coveted world title in Formula 1. The legendary driver finished second in the championship up to four times. He is now labelled by many as the best driver who never won a world title.

Need a lot of wins in 2021

This title can be taken away by Verstappen or Bottas in 2021. Currently, Moss's record stands at 16 wins. At the beginning of this year, Verstappen has a total of ten race victories. The Red Bull Racing driver needs seven more without winning the title to become the record holder.

Bottas also has a chance of winning the title that no one wants. Currently, the Mercedes driver has nine victories to his name, so he has eight left. With 23 races on the schedule and a rock-solid Lewis Hamilton who will take another shot at the title, there's a chance that one of these two drivers will take over the record. If not in 2021, 2022 or 2023 if Bottas remains active in F1. Incidentally, the record was temporarily held by Nico Rosberg, until he took his first title in 2016 after 23 Grand Prix victories.
