The Haas F1 team have yet to appoint a third driver for 2021. There are several options for the American racing team, Guenther Steiner stresses. The team boss states that talks are being held with Pietro Fittipaldi, but it is also possible that the services of Romain Grosjean or Kevin Magnussen will be called upon.

Fittipaldi replaced Grosjean in the last two Grands Prix of the season after the Frenchman's big crash in Bahrain. After the 2020 season, however, both Grosjean and Magnussen had to leave and Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin were signed up. But what happens if one of the two drivers catches the coronavirus, for example?

Returning former drivers?

"There is no rush. We are talking to Pietro. But there is no big rush from our side and not from his side," Steiner told Motorsport-Total.com. A temporary return of Grosjean and Magnussen is also a possibility. "If they are available, I wouldn't mind that. I think they would also like to come back. I haven't asked them, but I don't think they have any bad feelings."

It is known that both drivers were not very happy at Haas F1. The performance was very disappointing and the two men were unable to compete due to poor equipment. Nevertheless, their contracts were not renewed. Steiner, however, stresses that the relationship with Grosjean and Magnussen is still good and that there was "certainly no quarrel".
