For all the teams, 2020 was a disaster year, as it was for the rest of the world because of the coronavirus pandemic. For the creators of the Netflix series Drive to Survive, it was also different from the two years before, but they managed to film according to Will Buxton. By the way, the photo at the top of the article was taken in 2019.

While many streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime have had trouble making new seasons of popular series because they had to comply with coronavirus measures, fans of Drive to Survive can breathe a sigh of relief. Although the season only started in July, which meant that the first wave of coronavirus was behind them, the makers did experience some inconvenience during filming.

Will Buxton devoted an entire video to the new season of the popular Netflix series. The filmmakers had to join the bubble of Formula 1 like the rest.

"The easy answer is yes [it's happening]. That will come as no surprise if you have been watching F1 broadcast this year. You would have seen the Netflix crew in the background of loads of the shots, they have been on-site at all of the races," Buxton said on his official Youtube channel.

"It's no big surprise that season three will be back. It has been produced all year and it's in post-production at the moment."

Like the rest of Formula 1, the producers at Netflix had to move quickly as the calendar changed frequently. According to Buxton, fortunately, the makers were able to plan in the same way as the F1 teams, allowing them to be 'on top of things' again.

The filmmakers may have had to change some background shots due to the limitation of space. They also used longer microphones and lenses with a greater zoom. According to Buxton, the series will be released around the test days.

"Everyone working on this series believes it's the best they've ever done. They are so keen on getting it out there for everyone to see it. And when are they going to see it? The easy answer for that is at the same time as season one and season two, around the end of February, early March launch on Netflix makes a huge amount of sense," he added.
