With the departure of BMW, the DTM seemed doomed with only Audi left as a manufacturer, but with the arrival of Red Bull Racing and Ferrari, Gerhard Berger has given his class a new lease of life.

The DTM has become less interesting for drivers in recent years. With the departure of Mercedes and, at the end of 2020, BMW, the German motorsport class seemed to be coming to an end. Alexander Albon and Liam Lawson, however, were two big names who would sign for the DTM and with the arrival of Red Bull and Ferrari, Berger is now doing good business.

Berger saves the DTM

''Both Red Bull and Ferrari are leading names that stand for absolute success in the world of motorsport and beyond. We are delighted to unite these two top brands in a unique project in the DTM, where they will join forces in the attempt to win the prestigious championship,'' the Austrian said in the press release.

''The unprecedented collaboration of the three top drivers is particularly promising: Formula 1 driver and podium finisher Alex Albon, GT professional and multiple race winner Nick Cassidy and young talent Liam Lawson in one team - it's the perfect mix, which will keep the tension level high in the upcoming DTM season," concludes the DTM chief.
