The field for the 2021 Formula 2 season is taking shape. DAMS now has the complete line-up ready for the coming season, and this time it chooses to cash in on a Williams junior.

Formula 2 is the final stepping stone to Formula 1 and the platform for young talents to show what they can do. 2020 was another good year for the class as Nikita Mazepin, Mick Schumacher and Yuki Tsunoda delivered three 'Rookies' for the new F1 season.

In 2021, the F2 season promises to be even more exciting. Robert Shwartzman, Dan Ticktum, Jehan Daruvala and Marcus Armstrong are all returning men with a year's experience to fight for the world title. But those who have come through from F3 are just as talented. Oscar Piastri is a case in point, but Liam Lawson and Theo Pourchaire are also prime candidates for 2021.

In that respect it is remarkable that DAMS has chosen a driver with a lot of money for the second year in a row. Next to Marcus Armstrong there will be Roy Nissany. The Israeli is also a test driver at Williams for the same reason, but he does not yet have a decent CV. Last season he scored only five points in 24 races in F2, after having scored only one point in his debut in this class.
