The start of the new Formula 1 season has already suffered its first setback: Australia has officially been moved to a date in November, which means the season will now start in Bahrain. Rumours are going around that everyone has to be vaccinated before the start of the season, but is this true?

Change in the calendar

Despite the new date of Australia and the postponement of the Chinese Grand Prix, the season still 23 races planned. This was also the intention of the first calendar that was presented. Imola replaces the China spot and it is likely that the TBC spot will go to Portimao.

Secretly working on vaccination plan?

Swiss newspaper Blick reported earlier this week that before the start of the season, Formula 1 wanted every F1 staff member and team to be vaccinated against coronavirus. As a result, Formula 1 would not have to cancel as many races as last year.

Formula 1 now denies this plan. "I can confirm that no such plan is being worked on by either the FIA or Formula One," a spokesman told n-tv.
