'Abiteboul has to leave Renault, Budkowski and Brivio take the lead'

It has been kept a secret for a very long time, but it is now almost certain that Davide Brivio will leave for the Alpine Formula 1 team. The successful manager from MotoGP will thus ensure the departure of Cyril Abiteboul.

As a Formula 1 team, Renault has stood still somewhat in recent years. Led by Cyril Abiteboul, the French team returned to Formula 1 intending to become world champion, but after a strong start, the upward trend has disappeared in recent years. 

Huge changes at Renault

Luca de Meo, the CEO of Renault, created a stunt by taking Brivio away from MotoGP. The man who has led Yamaha and Suzuki to great success as team managers in MotoGP is said to be the new CEO of Alpine. Originally it was supposed to be Abiteboul, but he is losing his place.

According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Brivio will be the new CEO of Alpine and will work under the CEO of Renault, De Melo. The role of team boss played in recent years by Abiteboul will be taken over by Marcin Budkowski, who was active within the organisation.
