The Formula 1 calendar of 2021 has a record number of Grands Prix with a total of 23. There are already 22 races entered, only the location between 23-25 April is still unclear. The pinnacle of motorsport has yet to decide where to drive, but according to reports Imola seems most likely to be the host.

Sky Sports writes on Monday: "Imola is the current favourite to take the April 25 slot on the calendar."

Last season, after an absence of ten years, the outbreak of the coronavirus caused the Italian circuit to be driven again for the first time. Lewis Hamilton took victory by beating teammate Valtteri Bottas. Max Verstappen retired because Pirelli's hard tyre suddenly breaking down against all odds.

Imola was not the only track to suddenly win a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2020. Portimao, Istanbul Park, Mugello and the Nurburgring also received the pinnacle of motorsport. Imola would therefore, according to the rumours, be the biggest contender to be back on the calendar in 2021.
