Red Bull really a title contender in 2021? 'Think they're close to Mercedes'

The Formula 1 season of 2020 is over, but with a small winter break ahead of us, we can already look to 2021. Former F1 driver Christijan Albers does not have much hope for a change in the leading team in 2021.

Mercedes again supreme

In 2020, expectations were high, but in the end it was Mercedes again that got away with the world title fairly easily. With the victory of Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi, Red Bull Racing seems to be on the right track, but does that also mean that the step to Mercedes can be taken in 2021?

''Frankly, I think Mercedes will be supreme again. I do think that Red Bull can come a little closer. In terms of development and finding updates, they are stronger there than in building a completely new car, it seems. That's why in recent years you see that Red Bull is getting better and better throughout the season," says Albers at De Telegraaf.
