Ricciardo: "He certainly showed mental strength after leaving Red Bull Racing"

Daniel Ricciardo kept a close eye on the young drivers in 2020 and Pierre Gasly, stood out to the Australian. Ricciardo thinks it's great that Gasly has recovered in this way after a difficult 2019.

Russell or Gasly?

Ricciardo compared Gasly with George Russell in conversation with SpeedWeek.com: "It is difficult to say whether Gasly or Russell is ahead in the performance comparison.

"I think they both showed very strong matches. Gasly won a crazy race and also shone with good qualifying results", Ricciardo praises.

Mental strength of Gasly

"He certainly showed mental strength after leaving Red Bull Racing. It's not easy when the media and everyone says you're not good enough," concluded Ricciardo who will be in a McLaren in 2021.
