Red Bull should look to Mercedes for inspiration

The last Grand Prix of the season and Mercedes seems to be too strong for the rest of the field. Max Verstappen took his well-known third place at seven and five tenths from Bottas and Hamilton.

Challenge Mercedes

Now that the cars will remain virtually the same in 2021, it will be difficult for the other teams to beat Mercedes again, Sky Sports reporter Paul di Resta also thinks. Support from the team

If Verstappen wants to have a go at the world title next year, Red Bull has to get to work. "Verstappen wants a car that is no more than one tenth behind Mercedes. He also needs to get sufficient support from the team, including his team mate, so that there are more strategic opportunities."

Di Resta is mainly referring to the fact that Albon has still not found the connection with the Dutchman regarding his pace.

Get inspiration at Mercedes

But no matter how good Red Bull Racing will be next year, Mercedes will keep the advantage, according to Di Resta. "Certainly in today's aerodynamic age. Or Red Bull really needs to find something special". But there is still a possibility. "The new Honda engine might make a difference."

Di Resta is also of the opinion that Red Bull should take a good look at Mercedes. "They should draw inspiration from the Mercedes philosophy. The Red Bull always seems a bit weaker at the beginning of the season, while the Mercedes looks very comfortable."
