Romain Grosjean will leave Haas at the end of 2020 and, according to Günther Steiner, he was not always easy to manage. Romain himself disagrees with this and argues that the problem lies with the management itself.

Steiner found Grosjean difficult

Grosjean has already had a long career in Formula 1. The Frenchman made his debut at Renault and really made his breakthrough when he returned to the team that then drove under the name Lotus. In 2016, Grosjean made the switch to Haas' new project, which according to Steiner was struggling with the Frenchman.

''Sometimes he was 'Romain', I have no other word for that. He is difficult to manage, but apart from that he was of enormous value to the team. At times he was quite a challenge, but on the right day and at the right time he was enormously valuable. We should also thank him for what he has done for us," Steiner told Motorsport.com earlier.

Grosjean strikes back

In Bahrain, however, Grosjean reacted to this and accepted he has made mistakes but believes he's brought a lot with him. ''I do not want to go into too much detail. I think I have brought the team quite a bit. Yes, I've had moments and made mistakes, but who hasn't? You also have to give 105 per cent in a mediocre car to get a good result and when you drive at such a level, there is a big chance that you will make mistakes. With a top car you can drive at 99.8% and that means you are more consistent. I know both situations and that's why I can say that."

''Is it difficult to manage me? I don't know, but in the past they've succeeded very well, so I think it's possible," Grosjean added pointing to previous managers at Renault and Lotus.
