Mick Schumacher: "Of course I use some of my father's tips"

Mick Schumacher has explained in a documentary about himself that he uses one or two of Michael Schumacher's tips while racing. Prema's Formula 2 driver also stated that he is becoming increasingly aware of how special his father's seven world titles actually were.

"Of course I use some of my father's tips - even from my karting days," says Schumacher to the cameras of the German branch of RTL. However, the young German goes on to emphasize that they have both taken a completely different path towards Formula 1 and that the cars are no longer comparable to those of twenty years ago.

"At the same time, we are obviously different people and had different experiences in the junior classes. And you have to drive the cars differently today too, " said the 21-year-old driver, who pointed out what is different.

"We have a Formula 2 car that weighs 780 kilos, the cars back then weighed 500 kilos. But nevertheless, of course there are some similarities."

Schumacher well aware of his father's achievements 

Schumacher seems to be set to enter the pinnacle of motorsport with Haas F1 in 2021. Now that he has almost reached Formula 1, Schumacher is more aware of what his father has actually achieved. "What he did was extraordinary. I realize that more and more every day."
