Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have had a difficult season in 2020. Especially on the high speed circuits of Spa-Francorchamps and Monza, the speed was embarrassing for the Italian team. According to Leclerc, the team is determined to do much better in 2021 due to the bad season.

Improvements in 2020

In his first season at Ferrari, Leclerc won a Grand Prix twice and took home the prize for most pole positions. A year later there is almost nothing left of the glory of 2019. In 2020, Leclerc only took two podiums and hasn't come close to winning or a pole position yet.

"I’m happy, I’m satisfied with the way I have improved as a driver since the beginning of the season," says Leclerc according to Motorsportweek.com. The Monegasque says his tyre management, in particular, is improving compared to last season. "I put quite a lot of effort in that and it seems to be better now."

More patience

"We are trying to help the team as much as possible to come back to where we want to be and I think this is creating some strong links for me and the future with the team," Leclerc explains. The 23 year old driver thinks he has become a more patient driver because Ferrari will not be able to fight at the front this year.
