The Dutch Grand Prix has been postponed until September, which means that it will be a direct competitor to the Belgian Grand Prix. However, according to the circuit director of Zandvoort, there is no competition here.

The Dutch Grand Prix in 2020 was originally scheduled to be held in May, but in order to have a better chance of having as many fans as possible, it has applied to host the race in September. Because of this, the Netherlands is now on the schedule right after the race at Spa-Francorchamps, but according to Robert van Overdijk this is not a problem.

Zandvoort versus Spa-Francorchamps

''We have a good relationship with Spa and speak to each other regularly. Of course, you talk about these things. But at Spa people know that except for a few hospitality actions we were sold out for this year. In that context it doesn't matter at all to Spa," says the circuit director to Motorsport.com.

Van Overdijk even says that the Spa might help that Zandvoort is also on the calendar. ''You can say: if the enthusiasm in the Netherlands picks up even more and if Max starts the season well, we won't have room for many extra Dutch people on Sunday. But those people can go to Spa. I think Spa can look at it in a positive light and so can they," concludes Van Overdijk.
