Lewis Hamilton is on his way to his seventh world title in Formula 1, but still does not have a new contract for 2021. However, according to Ralf Schumacher, it is only a matter of time before this will be announced.

Things must be going very crazy if Lewis Hamilton is not to drive for Mercedes in 2021. The six-time world champion is on his way to title number seven and could even break Michael Schumacher's record at Mercedes in 2021 by winning no less than eight titles. So why stop?

Verstappen not any faster than Hamilton

''In my opinion, there are only two options for him: stop or extend. I don't see any other option for Lewis. The question is how much motivation he still has and I am curious about his choice. I'm sure he'll take the title in 2021 if he continues. The boys aren't 'annoying' enough for Lewis at the moment,'' says Schumacher in his column for Sky Sports.

''Helmut Marko believes Max Verstappen would be faster than Lewis in the same car by now, but I doubt that. In qualifying the young dogs Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are now really faster than Lewis. I am also sure of that. However, Lewis is still better in the race. There he stands head and shoulders above the rest and on that day the points will be distributed'', the former Formula 1 driver concludes.
