The radio messages that are broadcast during Formula 1 sessions often cause a stir. Drivers often shout things in the heat of the moment, while the adrenaline rushes through their bodies. That's why not everyone can appreciate these broadcasts, including Romain Grosjean.

Max Verstappen and Lando Norris both came under fire after their comments about Lance Stroll on the team radio during the race in Portugal. Norris later apologised, and as did Verstappen.

Uncensored radio messages

All radio messages are broadcast via F1 TV, the streaming service of Formula 1. Many messages are also broadcast during the race, and the uncensored versions often appear on social media.

Romain Grosjean toldMotorsport.com that he doesn't believe they should be broadcast at all.

"Why is it being broadcast at all?"

"The cockpit and radio between you and your team is your own environment, and I don't like that these messages are being broadcast. Imagine if you were to broadcast everything that is said on a soccer pitch," the Frenchman argued.

"You can't always say what you think. You have to respect people, we're not perfect at that. I myself am far from perfect at that. But you have to remember that we are in a car at 330km/h and driving at the limit. It's not like I'm sitting on the couch with a glass of wine".

"I wish I could be as transparent and straightforward as in normal life. But in the world we live in now, we always have to be careful what we say or the way we say it. That's the way society is these days."
