Horner on Verstappen's eye-opening radio message: "The emotion comes in"

Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen collided during FP2 in Portugal and the Dutchman was not happy about that. The Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner says his driver was running on emotion. 

The young Limburger was not happy with Stroll, to say the least. When the two collided, all sorts of reprehensible accusations went to the Canadian cockpit. Verstappen called him an 'retard' and a 'Mongol', a term used for people with Down's syndrome. The language you would not normally expect from anyone. 

Emotion

Team boss Christian Horner stands up for his driver and says it was a reaction from emotion. "The emotion comes in, it's in his character. His expectation was very different from the outcome. What you have to remember is that things happen to the drivers during the whole session. Some have a click and others don't," says Horner to RaceFans. "You know it can get interesting when Max appears behind Ocon or Stroll."

The collision meant that Stroll had to finish his training early. Verstappen was better off, with only some damage to his floor. "It wasn't too bad. We were quick to fax it," concludes Horner.
