Heidfeld: "That would really help Schumacher"

Like Callum Ilott, Mick Schumacher was supposed to be in action during the first free practice session prior to the Eifel Grand Prix, but due to the bad weather, their debut literally fell into the water. Schumacher will, in any case, get another chance later this year and probably Ilot will too, but nevertheless, all analysts agree: Schumacher will drive in Formula 1 next year.

Schumacher is ready

The fact that his debut could not go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances in his home country of all places is sour, but regardless of whether he made his debut or not, he is ready for it. This sentiment is repeated by former F1 driver Nick Heidfeld in his column at Sky Sports Germany, where he states that the young German driver is perfectly prepared.

"All indications are that we will see Mick in every race in the premier league next year. The many Schumacher fans in Germany will already be happy about this, but the most important thing: I am convinced that he really has what it takes. He has everything it takes to compete in Formula 1. He is perfectly prepared."

Raikkonen next to Schumacher

A well-known saying is: 'Good preparation is half the battle', which also applies to Schumacher if we are to believe Heidfeld. The other half is gaining experience and for that, it is important that you have a teammate who can teach you a lot. With Kimi Raikkonen, Alfa Romeo is doing well. After all, the Finn has a wealth of experience and has a championship to his name.

"For him, his teammate is very important, especially in his debut season. If it is Kimi, that would be fantastic for Mick. I have driven with him. He is a very honest guy and he doesn't talk nonsense. That is very helpful, especially in the first year. It will help him to get well on his way."

To date, the Alfa Romeo lineup for 2021 has still not been confirmed, but there is a very good chance that Kimi Raikkonen and Mick Schumacher will take the two seats. This means that Antonio Giovinazzi will say goodbye unless he can find another seat.
