Haas team boss and dissatisfied customer Guenther Steiner is not happy with the Ferrari engine bought by his team, and is planning to let the Italian team know, Speedweek reports.

The underperformance of the Ferrari engine is not only a thorn in the side of the Scuderia itself, but also of Alfa Romeo and Haas, who buy the Ferrari engines. Both teams are now at the bottom of the championship, with only Williams scoring less points than the pair.

After a lot of patience Steiner now wants an explanation from the Italian team. “You put pressure on it to go up again. The way we drive now is not nice - to put it mildly. We can't keep up with the midfield and are now driving around in the back, which is definitely not fun," he said. Steiner also announced that explanations would have to come, "if the engine doesn't get better next year.”

Binotto not happy either

Steiner sketches a tense atmosphere between Haas and Binotto, and seems to want to focus on diplomacy. “I've known Mattia Binotto for more than 15 years and we're friends too. Such a situation is very difficult. But building up pressure after the race doesn't help, except that we're both even more frustrated,”  he concludes.
