Pierre Gasly looks on with amazement at Alexander Albon's performance at Red Bull Racing. The young Thai, who replaced Gasly last year with the Milton Keynes team after disappointing results, is still getting more patience from Red Bull than Gasly did.

The Frenchman from AlphaTauri is doing well and regularly scores good points for his team, with the highlight, of course, being his race win at Monza. The 24-year-old driver is happy with his team and together they have great ambitions for the future. However, there seems to be something gnawing at Gasly after he was demoted to Toro Rosso by Red Bull last year after a bad first half of the season.

"Not focused on Alex"

In Sochi, he ended up in front of his replacement, Alexander Albon. That was not the first time this season. But that doesn't specifically give him a good feeling, he says to Motorsport-Total.com. "I don't care who ends up behind me. I'm not focused on Alex. What happens to him is not my problem, so I don't really care either."

He continues: "I've probably scored around 70 points for Toro Rosso and AlphaTauri in the last 12 months. That's a lot more than anyone else on this team. Some of them got the chance to go to Red Bull while scoring fewer points there. We will see."

Gasly is not afraid of another attempt at Red Bull, he says. "One thing is clear: Red Bull and I learned a lot from that period. I think we would do some things differently in order to be as competitive as possible. Now I would do it much better there. And we both know that."
