Sebastian Vettel makes the switch from Ferrari to Aston Martin in 2021. Vettel trades one legendary brand for another, but according to Andrew Green he finds himself in a much better situation.

Vettel to help Aston Martin

In 2015, Vettel switched to Ferrari to pursue his dream: To become a world champion in the red colours. Five years later that dream has still not come true and he has to leave empty-handed. The four-time world champion has found shelter at Aston Martin in 2021 and according to Green, both parties can help each other.

''It will provide the team with a whole new dynamic. It shows the intentions of Lawrence (Stroll) with this team and that's a very clear statement. We've never worked with a world champion before and someone with that mentality on the shop floor can show us what it takes to win," says the technical director of the current Racing Point.

Racing Point listens to drivers

To Motorsport-total.com, however, Green also states that his team can also be good for Vettel. ''At the moment he is not in good hands at Ferrari and we are a team that can get drivers back on the right track very quickly. So I am sure we can help him. We pay a lot of attention to the driver and put a lot of time into understanding him and becoming stronger as a team," Green explains Racing Point's approach.

''It makes drivers feel at home, comfortable and confident. They don't have to worry about what happens behind their backs, so they can focus fully on racing,'' says Green. That last comment, however, is somewhat dubious after Perez's contract has been nullified by a clause to bring in Vettel. Perez will most likely think differently about this 'trust'.
