Valtteri Bottas says it's only 'a matter of time' before he wins another race. The last time the Finn managed that was during the first race of the season, the GP of Austria.

Bottas has only won once this season and that gnaws at him. He constantly sees how his teammate Lewis Hamilton wins races like it's nothing. He is also often passed by Max Verstappen during the race. This is quite remarkable, because the 31-year-old driver of Mercedes is often the fastest during the free practice sessions.

Searching for perfection

Looking back at the GP of Mugello, in today's press conference Bottas explains how he views this situation. "It hurts, especially when you miss pole with such a small difference. But I also know the other side of the story, taking pole at a few hundredths of a second, so... Lewis and I are very close when it comes to speed. It's just like everything clicks in a session like that, that's what it's all about.

"I try to achieve perfection, but every time Lewis is just the better one. As I said after the last race, it's just a matter of time until everything clicks and I get those poles and victories again. I really believe in that, so I just keep doing what I'm doing and I'm trying to be better than I was a fortnight ago," Bottas concludes.
