The corona virus creates a unique situation in F1. Some races are run twice, other circuits were added last minute and others were scrapped. The triple header, three races in three weekends in a row, made its appearance. Racing Point boss Otmar Szafnauer warns that this should not become the norm.

Triple header not the standard

It is an atypical situation so there is no evidence that there will be triple headers again in F1 next year. These triple headers are not desirable and Szafnauer therefore warns that it should not become the norm.

Reuters quotes the team boss: "The situation with multiple triple headers in a season is not tenable. This year we are doing several, but if I have to say to the mechanics that this will be the norm from now on, I think they will choose to do something else."

Szafnauer is not alone

Other team bosses also compete against the triple-headers in this corner. Earlier Guenther Steiner said: "At the beginning of the year we had little to do for a few months... but I don't think it's a good idea to keep this up from now on."

Andreas Seidl from McLaren especially resented the missed time with friends and family: "The biggest problem is being absent from your family and children. That applies to every member of the team."
