Verstappen praises Red Bull Racing: "Best weekend of the year"

Max Verstappen was a few tenths short of Mercedes during qualifying, but he looks back with satisfaction on the first two days of the race weekend, which he even calls the best of this season. Now the only thing left to do is to end that with a victory and the driver of Red Bull Racing sees opportunities for that.

“The feeling is very different from last week, but Mugello is also a different track,” he said at the press conference. “I feel very happy in the car. This has been a very positive weekend so far. Yes, the best of this year so far. The team has done a great job with the set-up of the car."

Verstappen comes up with a plan to overtake during the race

Prior to the weekend, it was predicted that overtaking here would be very difficult, but based on the free practice sessions, maybe that's not as bad as previously thought. Verstappen has already come up with some plans to find his way forward.

“It won't be easy to overtake here, but the last two corners are a bit wider and quite long. Maybe you can drive slightly different lines there. And we now have a fairly reasonable top speed this year, so that's a nice bonus here too. ”
