Honda had motor problems at Red Bull Racing last weekend in Monza. This caused Max Verstappen to drop out of the race. Honda announces that they are taking measures after the problem of Verstappen.

Measures taken

"Although we had won at Monza, it was a tough weekend in many ways. Especially the problem we had with Max, which caused him to drop out", said Honda top man Toyoharu Tanabe on the Honda Racing F1 website. He explains that Verstappen dropped out so that the engine wouldn't be damaged any more.

Tanabe says that Honda learned a lot about the engine at Monza and that the team will come up with measures for the Tuscan Grand Prix. "We have analysed the problem and have taken measures to ensure that this problem does not happen again. We have also learned a lot about the new engine mode rule and expect to use this knowledge in the coming weekend", concludes Tanabe.

First race at Mugello

This weekend Formula 1 will be competing for the first time in Mugello for an official Grand Prix. The circuit in Tuscany has already been used for a test in 2012. Engine power will be less important at Mugello than it was at Monza.
