The Formula 1 Circus is settling down at a new location this weekend. The Mugello racetrack is one of the most beautiful in Europe. With its beautiful combination of flowing corners situated between the hills of Tuscany, it is a pleasure to drive here.

For Formula 1, however, it is always a question of whether a bit of good racing can be done here as well. In other words, what are the possibilities of catching up? They are limited, is the short, but honest answer.

Long straight should bring action on Sunday

Only the 1.1kilometre-long straight has been designated as a place where the DRS can open. However, this DRS zone is rather long in order to increase the chance of overtaking at turn one.

Mugello, therefore, looks a bit like Suzuka in character. The track itself is almost a rollercoaster and great for the drivers to drive. However, it is also narrow and therefore can sometimes lead to frustrating moments in the race.
