Unbelievable, but true: Finnish gambler predicted podium right and picks up prize

A Finnish gambler has hit the jackpot! A man from Tampere had bet 20 cents on a podium consisting of Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll. He won a total of 33,398 euros, according to the Finnish medium Svenska Yle.

Took the gamble

In the past ten years, the chances of a podium like that coming out have been so small. That's why the payout for only 20 cents was so huge.

In recent years there has only been one Grand Prix where you could have made a lot of money with 20 cents, but that didn't come close to the more than 30,000 euros of the Finnish gambler. This was the 2017 Grand Prix in Baku where Daniel Ricciardo, Lance Stroll and Valtteri Bottas were on the podium. With 20 cents wagering, you would've won 12,639 euros at the time.
