It has been coming for some time now and now Autosport.com and the Spanish branch of Motorsport.com also know that from the Italian Grand Prix onwards the use of the so-called party mode during qualifying is forbidden. RaceFans.net reported this yesterday. The teams have to use the same engine mode in qualifying as in the race from Monza.

Postponement due to dyno tests

The official statement of the FIA is still missing, but it seems increasingly certain that the abolition of party fashion will take effect during the Italian GP. The concession was made to give engine manufacturers more time to perform dyno tests before entering a race weekend with new restrictions. Honda were already very much in favour of this postponement.

The abolition of party mode was described for the first time in a letter sent to the teams prior to the Spanish Grand Prix. In the letter, Secretary General for motorsport Pieter Bayer wrote that the FIA wanted to limit the various motorcycle fashions by means of a technical guideline.
