During the GP of Spain Lewis Hamilton showed again that he is currently the best driver in Formula 1. On the other hand Alexander Albon struggled in his Red Bull. Peter Windsor analysed both drivers in his latest video.

Hamilton makes the difference

''You noticed Lewis was able to adjust immediately when the wind increased in turn six. You saw that Valtteri Bottas was a bit more cautious there and from that moment on Lewis started to run out. It's just another example of how Hamilton can adapt to the conditions," said the former team manager of Williams.

''When you look in the cockpit with Hamilton, everything is so calm. He is the most patient driver in Formula 1. Where a Kvyat makes a lot of wild moves, with Lewis everything is in one rhythm. That has nothing to do with how good the car is, but purely with his footwork and his feeling with the car. He's in complete harmony with the car and feels everything that needs to happen.''

Albon put on a lap by Verstappen

A driver who is less in 'sync' with his car is Alexander Albon. The Thai is having a hard time next to Max Verstappen in the car of Red Bull Racing and Windsor can see why. Where a Max Verstappen and Hamilton are very direct with the entry, this doesn't fit Alex's style.

''Alex was in trouble right from the start. Of course that hard tire didn't help in the race, but even on the same tire as his competitors at the end of the race, he still suffered a lot from understeer. That's because he's very nice with the way he steers, but that makes the corner much longer'', Windsor concludes his analysis.
