Formula 1 and FIA distrust teams: 'Do other teams also cheat on the engine?'

From the Belgian Grand Prix onwards, Formula 1 wants to oblige all teams to drive with one engine position. This seems mainly to slow down the dominance of Mercedes, but according to some it also indicates distrust in Formula 1.

Who else is cheating?

Last year Ferrari emerged out of nowhere with the most powerful engine in the field. The Italian team appeared to have found something that the FIA could not trace, but was soon whistled back. Since then the F1 has set a lot of new rules, but it also seems suspicious about the other engines.

For example, Auto, Motor und Sport states that it now seems that Formula 1 suspects a few or more manufacturers that the rules around saving energy are not being enforced. Sensors are also used for this purpose and Formula 1 seems to have the idea that there are manufacturers who know how to bypass them.

Suspicions about F1

In addition to the grey area around the MGU-K, F1 also wants more clarity about the teams' ERS system. At the end of this week all teams have to send their drawings and 3D images of their ERS system. In addition, the F1 also wants all data of the used specimen.

Should this lead to Formula 1 having greater doubts about a competitor's ERS system, it will investigate the car as a whole. The engine manufacturers are therefore clearly asked to make everything available for this. It is clear that the FIA and F1 have become suspicious after the Ferrari story and possibly this will have a tail end.
