Alexander Albon has been working with a new engineer since the British Grand Prix. The British Thai seems to regain confidence in the RB16 and Helmut Marko is also willing to be patient with his young pupil. That's what the advisor of Red Bull Racing in Spain tells.

In conversation with the German branch of Sky, Marko states that Albon is for the time being sure of his place at the Austrian race team. Red Bull does have one condition attached to this: "As long as we see that things are going better and that progress is being made", said the 77-year-old top rider.

The first five Grands Prix have not gone as hoped for Albon. There was no place on the podium, but especially on the Saturdays, the 24-year-old driver is still missing out. Marko defends Albon. "Alex has had many incidents: engine problems and for example the crash caused by Hamilton. He also lacks self-confidence".

Albon needs time

Marko continues his story: "The speed is there. In the third stint in the first Silverstone race he set the absolute fastest times. But as I said: He is young and unexperienced and needs stability", the man from Graz concludes.
